Holter and Cardiostat Monitoring
What is it for?
Both are used to record the electrical activity of the heart continuously over 24 hours or longer while you are away from the doctor’s office.
The Holter monitor is a portable device that captures your heart rhythm (ECG) over a period of time. We provide 24, 48, and 72 hr. or 7- and 14-day monitoring.
We also provide a 7-day Cardiostat monitor which is waterproof and designed to be worn for the duration of a week.
How do I prepare?
Eat, drink, and take medications as normal unless otherwise directed by our physicians. Wear a loose-fitted shirt that can be easily removed and avoid the use of body creams/lotions.
What can I expect during the procedure?
You will go along your day as normal. This includes wearing the device showering and working out.
What can I expect after the procedure?
Results will be collected and will be shared with your doctor. There are no side effects and patients can go back to their usual diet and activities.
